Weekly Radio Address: Budgeting the Wisconsin Way

Madison…Rep. Mark Born (R-Beaver Dam) discusses the budget process and successes in the Weekly Radio Address for Wisconsin State Assembly Republicans.

“Hello, I’m State Representative Mark Born, member of the Joint Committee on Finance. As we head into the new year, the focus in Madison begins to turn to the upcoming state budget. We will kick-off our committee work by traveling throughout the state to hear important testimony directly from people like you.

This process allows us to know your priorities so we can make key investments in these areas. I am proud of the budget Assembly Republicans helped craft last session; one that included a record increase in K-12 education, lowered property taxes to below 2010 levels, invested in worker training programs like FAB Labs and apprenticeships, and continued the UW schools tuition freeze for another two years. These investments would not have been possible without input from people all over Wisconsin.

By listening to you, and hearing what’s important to your family, I can promise Assembly Republicans will fight for a budget that builds upon our fiscally conservative governing, invests in the priorities Wisconsinites value, and continues making our state a great place to live, work, and raise a family. I look forward to hearing from you as we travel the state and visit your communities.”
