Wisconsin District Attorneys’ Association, representing all criminal prosecutors in
the State of Wisconsin, released the following statement on the results of the Nov. 6, 2018 election:

The Wisconsin District Attorneys’ Association, representing Wisconsin’s criminal prosecutors, congratulates Tony Evers and Josh Kaul on their election victories. The WDAA’s board and membership look forward to working with Governor-Elect Evers and Attorney General-Elect Kaul to ensure that experienced prosecutors remain in State service through funding pay progression, reducing the burden on under-staffed District Attorney offices by addressing the budget requests of DAs seeking additional prosecutors, and by creating a prosecutor board to assist in the management of the District Attorney Program.

The WDAA wishes to thank Governor Scott Walker for funding assistant district attorney pay progression and his attention to prosecutors’ concerns.

The WDAA also wishes to thank Attorney General Brad Schimel for the assistance given to the WDAA with numerous legislative efforts, including his support for additional prosecutors, pay progression, the creation of a prosecutor board and for his service on our executive board.
