Merrill Steel is one of eight Wisconsin companies awarded contracts for
the Wisconn Valley Science & Technology Park’s Multipurpose Building
SCHOFIELD, WI. JULY 23, 2018 – Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) Secretary Mark R. Hogan and Wisconsin Department of Administration (DOA) Secretary Ellen Nowak highlighted the statewide reach and benefits of Foxconn’s $10 billion investment in Wisconsin today by visiting Merrill Steel in Schofield.
Merrill Steel is one of the eight prime contractors for construction of a multipurpose building in Phase 1 of Area 1 of the Wisconn Valley Science & Technology Park in Mount Pleasant.
“Contracts like those awarded to Merrill Steel are just the beginning of the ripple effects occurring in central Wisconsin and around the state as a result of Foxconn’s historic investment in Wisconsin,” Secretary Hogan said. “I commend Merrill Steel on being one of the first companies to receive a contract and congratulate them on being a part of the largest economic development project in state history.”

Merrill Steel’s contract is to furnish and install the structural steel, metal deck, steel joist and miscellaneous metals. All structural steel will be fabricated at Merrill Steel’s Schofield facility. The company plans to use 365 tons of steel for the project.
