MADISON – Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters congratulates Tony Evers and Mandela Barnes on their election victory.
“Tony Evers and Mandela Barnes will move Wisconsin forward toward a cleaner, healthier, and more equitable future,” said Kerry Schumann, executive director. “Their dedication to clean water and air, abundant public lands, the health of our families, and a clean energy future will begin to undo the failed policies of the Walker administration. This victory wouldn’t have been possible without the votes of tens of thousands of conservation voters who love and cherish this state, and who took action to protect it. We are excited at the opportunity to work with Tony Evers and Mandela Barnes to promote a new conservation ethic.”
During this crucially important election, Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters heard again and again – at doors, on phones, through email, social media, and polls – that protecting Wisconsin’s environment is a priority.
Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters volunteers and staff knocked on tens of thousands of doors across the state to speak with voters face-to-face. From Cuba City to Algoma, from Platteville to Egg Harbor, voters expressed deep concern for clean drinking water, healthy lakes and rivers, and protecting our open spaces.
“This victory marks the beginning of a new era in Wisconsin,” said Matt Dannenberg, program director. “Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters is looking forward to working with Tony Evers and his administration on behalf of conservation voters across the state to protect our air, land, water, and public health – today and for future generations.”
