(Pewaukee, Wis.) – The following is an official statement from Wisconsin Operating Engineers president and business manager Terry McGowan regarding the recent nomination of Craig Thompson as Department of Transportation secretary.
“The Wisconsin Operating Engineers fully support the naming of Craig Thompson for secretary of the Wisconsin DOT. Craig’s years of unwavering support for and understanding of the critical role transportation infrastructure plays in Wisconsin’s economy and our communities’ quality of life bode well for our future.
“Craig has also demonstrated the ability to be bipartisan in his approach during his career at the Transportation Development Association representing multi-modal forms of transportation whether they be roads and highways, transit, shipping or rail. Craig Thompson will be both fiscally responsible and prepared to fight for fully funding the next generation of transportation infrastructure.”
