On Wednesday, January 24, 2018, Buzzfeed broke the news that Cecile Richards, President of Planned Parenthood, plans to step down from her role with the nation’s largest abortion provider.

“For Cecile Richards, stepping down at this time makes all the sense in the world. We wouldn’t want to work for Planned Parenthood either, given the sizable defeats they have recently experienced due to the pro-life movement’s work,” stated Heather Weininger, Executive Director of Wisconsin Right to Life.

Within the past few years, Planned Parenthood has seen:
– Major scandal in their dealings with the trade of aborted baby body parts;
– A wave of pro-life laws passed in states all around the country, cutting off sources of their taxpayer funding and encouraging more women to choose life;
– A massive electoral loss with the defeat of Hillary Clinton, their preferred pro-abortion presidential candidate;
– Momentum grow to new levels for Planned Parenthood to be defunded.

“With Parenthood’s power and prominence on the decline, it makes perfect sense for Cecile Richards to start planning her exit,” continued Weininger. “It’s clear that Planned Parenthood’s future looks bleak, as the future for unborn children looks so promising.”
