Party recognizes Moore for her record of investing in communities that need it most

MILWAUKEE — This morning the Wisconsin Working Families Party announced their support for the reelection of Congresswoman Gwen Moore, U.S Representative for the 4th Congressional District of Wisconsin. Moore has been in Congress since 2005, and represents the greater Milwaukee area. She is the first woman to represent the district and the first African-American elected to Congress from Wisconsin.

“We are proud to announce our endorsement of Congresswoman Gwen Moore for reelection. Over the last 12 years, the Congresswoman has shown her commitment to the people of Milwaukee by leading on issues like protecting the social safety net, standing up for unions, and resisting Trump administration assaults that harm and separate Wisconsin families,” said Rebecca Lynch, Political Director at the Wisconsin Working Families Party.

“I am proud to be endorsed by the Wisconsin Working Families Party. It is akin to receiving a badge of honor for upholding the banner for issues that matter to the people: living wage jobs, fighting for Medicare, Medicaid and access to basic health care, fair funding for public schools, fair and equitable tax system and ending mass incarceration. We need to strive toward a society that measures our success on how we uplift all people,” said Congresswoman Gwen Moore, U.S. Representative for Wisconsin’s 4th congressional district.

Congresswoman Moore is amongst a series of recent Milwaukee County endorsements from the Wisconsin Working Families Party, including Earnell Lucas, Supreme Moore Omokunde, Marisabel Cabrera, Rep. JoCasta Zamarripa, and Rep. Evan Goyke.
