Washington Republicans are continuing their dangerous, Leah Vukmir and Kevin Nicholson-backed health care market sabotage that’s increasing premium costs and making it harder for Americans to access health care

MADISON — Republican U.S. Senate candidates Leah Vukmir and Kevin Nicholson are standing with Washington Republicans as they continue their health care market sabotage that’s not only making it harder for Americans to get health care insurance but also actively spiking premiums across the country.

Here are the latest examples of Washington Republicans’ efforts to stoke health insurance market instability

    • Last weekend, the Trump Administration announced it was ending “a program that pays billions of dollars to insurers to stabilize health insurance markets under the Affordable Care Act” — a move that the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association says “will undermine Americans’ access to affordable care, particularly for those who need medical care the most.”
  • And on Tuesdaythe Trump Administration announced plans for deep cuts to a program that helps Americans navigate the health care marketplace and sign up for health care insurance. The planned cuts will reduce the federal funds for the program by more than two-thirds — to $10 million from $36.8 million. This latest sabotage follows the Trump Administration in August 2017 “reducing the navigators’ aid by 41 percent, from $62.5 million, and slashing by 90 percent a related budget for advertising and other outreach activities to foster ACA enrollment.”

Vukmir and Nicholson have for months cheered on Washington Republicans’ ongoing health care market sabotage — all while opposing bipartisan fixes to stabilize insurance markets — and even said that they back Republicans’ claims that protections for Americans with pre-existing conditions are unconstitutional, which could jeopardize 133 million Americans’ health care access.
