MADISON — The Democratic Party of Wisconsin is continuing to expose Republican Party of Wisconsin-endorsed U.S. Senate candidate Leah Vukmir’s support for extreme policies that would hurt hardworking Wisconsinites, today highlighting Vukmir’s hardline support for restricting Wisconsin women’s access to a full range of health care options.
We’ve previously looked at Vukmir’s support for gutting earned benefits programs and Vukmir’s plans to end protections for people with preexisting conditions and take away tens of millions of Americans’ health care access.
Equally as extreme, is Vukmir’s hardline commitment to taking away Wisconsin women’s right to choose.
Leah Vukmir: Anti-Choice Extremist
One of the Wisconsin state Senate’s “most anti-abortion-rights members,” Leah Vukmir supports a total ban on all abortions — even in cases of rape, incest, or where necessary to save the life of the mother.
And Vukmir also supports a federal “personhood” law which could “criminalize certain common forms of birth control.”
Beyond, that Vukmir has indicated support for “certain restrictions on stem cells used for medical research, including banning the use of “stem cells extracted from human embryos.”
Previously, Vukmir championed a state Senate 20-week abortion ban bill, and, just this year, Vukmir sponsored a radical anti-choice law that prevents women public employees from accessing a full range of health care options.
