MADISON — In the face of U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson’s request that Republican U.S. Senate candidates Kevin Nicholson and Leah Vukmir “Please do nothing to harm the other candidate” — particularly with Vukmir on her so-called “Grassroots Endorsement Victory Tour” — Nicholson is nevertheless continuing to attack Vukmir.
Johnson isn’t alone in his plea for unity — or, at the very least, basic civility. Yesterday, Wisconsin GOP consultant and former Tommy Thompson aide Bill McCoshen said on WMTV-TV that:
“The hope is Kevin Nicholson will either step out of the race or at least not attack her for the last 100 days of this race.”
“No matter who I’m running against in this race, I’m running against a career politician…that’s why we’re going to win in August.”
Nice.
“Wisconsin Republicans are well on their way to a far more brutal U.S. Senate primary than they experienced in 2012,” said Brad Bainum, Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson for the 2018 Senate race. “It’s truly great to see.”
