[Milwaukee, WI] — This weekend, grassroots activists from across the state will gather in Milwaukee for the Republican Party of Wisconsin 2018 convention. As Wisconsin Republicans come together to continue the fight for bold reforms to keep moving our state forward, Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch, who is chairing the convention, released the following statement:
“We have so much to celebrate as Wisconsin Republicans, but we have even more to fight for to keep moving our state forward for hard-working families. Conservatives from all corners of the state must be ready to stand up against the big government special interests and re-elect Gov. Scott Walker, defeat Senator Tammy Baldwin, and defend our Republican majorities – all of our reforms are at stake, and we cannot win without the grassroots support that has propelled us to victory against the odds in the past.”
The Republican Party of Wisconsin convention begins Friday and runs through Sunday at the Wisconsin Center in downtown Milwaukee. It will feature remarks by Gov. Walker, Speaker Ryan, Lt. Gov. Kleefisch, members of the Wisconsin Republican congressional delegation, candidates for U.S. Senate Kevin Nicholson and Leah Vukmir, and other Republican leaders like Senate Majority Leader Fitzgerald and Assembly Speaker Vos.
U.S. Senator Ron Johnson, who chaired last year’s convention, will serve as Chairman of the Grassroots Endorsement Process. Both candidates for U.S. Senate participating in the endorsement process by conservative grassroots activists from across the state have signed a Unity Pledge to support the eventual Republican nominee in the fall against Baldwin.
