Party holding Evers accountable over his education budget proposal plagiarism
[Madison, WI] — Following the breaking news of Tony Evers’ plagiarism in his most recent state budget proposal, the Republican Party of Wisconsin is filing an open records request with the Department of Public Instruction related to the plagiarized portions of the budget in question, as well as any communications between DPI staff and the Evers campaign. Evers’ budget copied verbatim from numerous sources without properly citing them, including Wikipedia and a blog post by an intern from a think tank. Read the story here.
“This is about accountability, plain and simple, and Tony Evers needs to answer a very simple question — who is responsible?” said Mark Morgan, Executive Director of the Republican Party of Wisconsin. “Tony Evers cheated on the biggest test he has. He doesn’t get to dodge responsibility when he is telling children on his website that plagiarism is ‘illegal’, and he needs to answer questions about how this happened now.”
