Bipartisan group of law enforcement officers backs Brad Schimel’s campaign
[Madison, WI] — Brad Schimel is law enforcement’s pick for Attorney General. Earlier this week, a group of sheriffs came out in support of AG Schimel’s reelection, touting the work that he did to end the state’s rape kit backlog and his efforts to help keep schools safe. Check out excerpts of the Journal Sentinel’s coverage of Brown County Sheriff John Gossage, Eau Claire County Sheriff Ron Cramer, and Waukesha County Sheriff Eric Severson supporting Schimel below:
“Brad Schimel took action on the backlog of the rape kits and got results,” Cramersays in the ad.

And Gossage says, “When Brad found out there was an issue with a backlog in testing, he acted immediately and got additional staff working on this to take care of the problem.”

That’s not all. A huge number of bipartisan sheriffs have announced their support of Schimel for reelection. In total, 63 of Wisconsin’s 72 sheriffs from both parities are endorsing Schimel. Check out the full release of sheriffs here, or excerpts from them below:
“As a career prosecutor, Attorney General Schimel has been defending the rule of law his entire career,” said Ozaukee County Sheriff Jim Johnson. “There is no one more qualified or experienced to lead the Department of Justice.”

“Brad Schimel is a tough, fair, and independent attorney general who has led the battle in Wisconsin against opioid abuse through prevention and treatment, becoming a national model in the fight against drug abuse,” said Bayfield County Sheriff Paul Susienka. “His commitment and dedication make him my choice for Attorney General.”

“Attorney General Schimel has spent his career prosecuting violent criminals and keeping Wisconsin families safe.” said Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt.  “His tough, fair, and independent approach makes him law enforcement’s choice to continue to lead the Department of Justice.”
Schimel’s opponent Josh Kaul is a political attorney who has built his career working for liberal special interests and Washington insiders like Hillary Clinton. Brad Schimel is keeping Wisconsin safe, and law enforcement recognizes that he’s the only choice for attorney general.
