[Madison, WI] — Republican voters in the First Congressional District chose Bryan Steil tonight to be the party’s nominee this fall. Steil spent years working as a volunteer for the Republican Party and built his career working in manufacturing. Steil will continue Paul Ryan’s record of conservative reforms for hard-working families in the First Congressional District. Brad Courtney, Chairman of the Republican Party of Wisconsin released the following:

“Bryan worked hard to secure the crucial support of Republican voters – I congratulate him on a race well run. With a career spent solving problems and growing Wisconsin businesses Bryan is the perfect candidate to continue Paul Ryan’s record of conservative reform in the First Congressional District. I look forward to working with Bryan as he continues to earn the support of Wisconsin voters by showing he’ll keep fighting for them.”

Republican Party of Wisconsin Executive Director Mark Morgan weighed in on Steil’s opponent Randy Bryce:

“The steady stream of new information regarding Randy Bryce’s conduct cuts directly to the core of his character and shows that Wisconsin voters can’t trust him. From his failures to pay child support while buying Twitter followers, to his lengthy criminal history, Bryce’s record is totally disqualifying and displays the total lack of respect he has for Wisconsin families.”
