25 of 30 Appointees are from Milwaukee and Madison
[Madison, WI]— After promising to pursue an economic development strategy for all of Wisconsin’s 72 counties, Tony Evers is doing the opposite – filling the overwhelming majority of his economic development advisory council with liberal insiders from Madison and Milwaukee, and just five from the rest of the state. After common sense Republican reforms resulted in a booming economy for the entire state, with under 3% unemployment and more people working than ever before, it is clear the incoming Democrat governor will attempt to take Wisconsin backward.
“Tony Evers has proven yet again that he will ignore the needs of hard-working families across Wisconsin in favor of rewarding Madison and Milwaukee insiders,” said Republican Party of Wisconsin Executive Director Mark Morgan. “Appointing 25 members to the economic development panel from Milwaukee and Madison compared to just five members from the rest of the state shows Tony Evers is beholden to the liberal special interests that want to take our state backward.”
On the campaign trail and since becoming governor-elect, Evers has said he’ll pursue a “72-county” strategy. Yet, during his first major act on the issue of economic development, Evers appointed an economic development advisory council that includes 25 of 30 members from the Madison and Milwaukee areas.
