Won’t support Mike Pompeo for Secretary of State
[Madison, WI] — Today, Senator Tammy Baldwin announced that she would pick party over country and oppose President Trump’s nominee for Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo. Pompeo is a highly-qualified candidate who would serve the nation well during a pivotal point in American history, as crucial decisions on North Korea and Syria loom large.
“While America’s safety and security hang in the balance, Senator Baldwin is continuing to play games with critical cabinet nominees,” said Alec Zimmerman, spokesman for the Republican Party of Wisconsin. “America stands on the edge of pivotal foreign policy decisions in Syria and North Korea, yet Baldwin has decided to pick party over country by opposing a highly qualified candidate for Secretary of State like Mike Pompeo.”
