WisGOP: Walker’s real results best Evers in first debate
Evers’ failed leadership would take WI backward
[Madison, WI] — At tonight’s first debate between Governor Scott Walker and Madison bureaucrat Tony Evers, Evers’ record of failed leadership was no match for Walker’s record of real results for hard-working Wisconsin families. Evers’ policies would take Wisconsin backward – including higher property, income, and gas taxes – and his failure to take responsibility for his plagiarism scandal and other shortcomings are proof positive that he won’t stand up for our state. Following tonight’s debate win by Governor Scott Walker, the Republican Party of Wisconsin released the following statement from Chairman Brad Courtney:
“Governor Walker’s reforms are working and have our state headed in the right direction. With our unemployment rate at or below 3 percent for eight months in a row, and over $8 billion in tax relief, Walker is delivering real results for Wisconsin. Tony Evers is a Madison liberal who would take our state backward. We can’t go back to the days of budget deficits, job losses, and tax hikes – we must keep moving Wisconsin forward with Scott Walker.”
