Supreme Court takes over appeal in lame-duck suit

A divided state Supreme Court today decided to take over an appeal that had been filed in one of two lame-duck lawsuits originating out of Dane County even though the justices hadn’t been asked to do so. Dept. of Justice: Wisconsin woman sentenced to 5 years in prison, 7 years supervision for meth possession with intent to deliver

MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul announced that Erica Ducommun was sentenced by Outagamie County Circuit Court Judge Mark McGinnis to five years of initial confinement followed by seven years of extended supervision for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine. Ducommun pled no contest to this offense on January 14, 2019. In August 2017, the Lake Winnebago Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group – Drug Unit (MEG), executed a search warrant in Appleton, Wisconsin for the hotel room registered to Ducommun. One Wisconsin driver sought to brand his vehicle with a personalized “H8WI” license plate last April.
