MADISON, Wis. – Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin (AFP-WI) on Wednesday thanked members of the Senate Committee on Health and Human Services for passing Senate Bill 28, which includes reforms to promote access to Direct Primary Care, during today’s executive committee meeting. AFP advocates building a patient-centered health care system that increases access to affordable, high-quality health care. The Assembly Committee on Small Business Development passed the direct primary care legislation earlier this month.
AFP-WI State Director Eric Bott issued the following statement:
“Innovative health care programs such as Direct Primary Care remove barriers to high quality, affordable health care and help solve Wisconsin’s doctor shortage. This bill would help protect physicians seeking to practice DPC from inapplicable insurance regulations and empower them to grow their ability to treat more patients in their communities as needed. AFP-WI thanks Senator Kapenga and Representative Sanfelippo for authoring this important legislation and Senator Testin for holding the executive session. On behalf of thousands of activists in Wisconsin, AFP-WI urges the full legislature to pass the bill.”
