MILWAUKEE  – Justin Bielinski of Burnham Park will seek to become the next Alderman of Milwaukee’s 8th District during the 2020 Spring Elections. He released the following statement regarding today’s announcement:

“Milwaukee is a city on the rise, with exciting developments happening nearly every day. Unfortunately, the benefits have yet to make a significant impact on our Near South Side neighborhoods, and the hard-working families who live here.

I’ve made the 8th District my home for nearly 12 years, and there’s no place I’d rather be. But crumbling roads, persistent safety concerns, and lack of economic opportunity have been holding us back for far too long.

This must change, and that’s exactly what I plan to do as Alderman.”

Bielinski is a former youth service professional, community organizer, and political strategist from Milwaukee. In 2018, he served as campaign manager for Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, studying History, Nonprofit Management, and Political Science. He lives in the Burnham Park neighborhood with his wife Linnea.

This is Bielinski’s second run for the 8th District seat, after receiving over 48% of the vote in 2016 against long-time incumbent and former mayoral candidate Bob Donovan, who announced in March that he would not be seeking a 6th term.
