MILWAUKEE
– In response to the results of the Wisconsin Supreme Court election on April 2nd, current Democratic Party of Wisconsin 1st Vice Chair and State Rep. David Bowen, Sauk County Democratic Party Chair Tammy Wood, and UW-Madison Student & Kenosha Youth Organizer Alicia Lorta released a statement about its implications for 2020 & beyond.

“This week’s election results highlight exactly why we are running for DPW leadership right now,” said Bowen. “The most diverse ticket in Party history is planning with the Future of The Party in mind.”

“This election proved President Trump still has a path to victory in 2020,” said Wood. Increasing turnout in rural and urban WI is paramount, it’s clear no one is coming to save us. We have step up to save ourselves and make ambitious changes at the Party to ensure the work gets done.”

“The time is now that to have well resourced continuous, year-round grassroots organizing, including issue based organizing as well as candidates based, embrace a fully digital approach, and have a permanent Democratic presence with main street-level visibility in at least half of all Wisconsin counties by the 2020 primary,” said Bowen.

Additionally, the team emphasized that the election is not officially over yet.

“This race is still too close to call. It’s imperative we count every vote,” said Lorta. “Our team encourages everyone to sign up to volunteer with the recount effort athttps://judgeneubauer.com/.”
