“I welcome Speaker Pelosi’s decision to begin an impeachment inquiry. The findings from the Mueller report troubled me and made it clear that he solicited help from Russia and obstructed justice. Trump’s abuse of presidential power did not stop there. His recent calls urging Ukraine’s president to investigate his political opponent is the latest example of Trump’s lawlessness. The administration’s mishandling of the whistlerblower complaint also illustrates the persuasiveness of their corruption.
The American people are tired and deserve better. Our nation’s laws were crafted from sacred ideals and nobody is above these principles. An impeachment inquiry is proper, timely and necessary. I hope more of my Republican colleagues will join in this effort to protect our democracy.”
