[Juneau, WI] — Wisconsin Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald today announced the next in a series of prominent endorsements for his candidacy for Wisconsin’s Fifth Congressional District. Fitzgerald’s newest endorsement comes from Tommy G. Thompson, 41st Governor of Wisconsin and former U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services.
“Scott Fitzgerald has the record and experience to represent the residents of Wisconsin’s Fifth congressional district,” said Thompson. “He is a proven conservative who has had a leading role in some of the most important reforms in our state in recent decades. Wisconsin’s Fifth deserves another strong conservative voice continuing to represent their interests in Congress, and Scott Fitzgerald has my full support.”
Fitzgerald, a 25-year legislative veteran and longtime State Senate Majority Leader, celebrated the most recent endorsement as his candidacy in the Fifth Congressional district gains momentum.
“It is an absolute honor to have Governor Thompson’s endorsement,” said Fitzgerald. “From his efforts to keep taxes low for Wisconsin residents to his support of major pro-life policies to his significant reforms of our state’s welfare system, Tommy has been a conservative champion for Wisconsin. He served our nation proudly under the Bush administration and has continued to leave his mark on the Badger State. I’m extremely grateful to have his support.”
Today’s is the latest in a list of endorsements from prominent Wisconsin conservatives for Fitzgerald’s congressional bid and follows the announcement earlier this week of an endorsement from Kevin Nicholson, Marine Corps Veteran and head of No Better Friend Corp.
