MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers today ordered the flags of the United States and the State of Wisconsin to be flown at half-staff as a mark of respect for Ed Brooks, a former State Representative of the 50th State Assembly District, who served in the Wisconsin State Legislature from 2009 to 2019. The order is effective beginning at sunrise on Mon., April 29, 2019, and ending at sunset on that date.
“Our hearts are with Barbara as well as Ed’s three daughters and their friends and family as we mourn the loss of an exceptional husband, father, friend, and public servant,” said Gov. Evers. “Ed dedicated his life and career fighting for the people of Wisconsin and leaves behind an honorable legacy of relentless advocacy and service. He will most certainly be missed.” “It was a great honor to serve with Rep. Brooks during my tenure in the Wisconsin State Assembly. He was a thoughtful legislator and a genuinely good and sincere person. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time,” said Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes.
