Supreme Court Candidate Judge Brian Hagedorn today announced his campaign received the endorsements of former Wisconsin Supreme Court Justices Jon Wilcox and David Prosser. Wilcox and Prosser join Justices Rebecca Bradley and Daniel Kelly and former Justice Michael Gableman in endorsing Hagedorn’s bid for Supreme Court.

“Justices Wilcox and Prosser are outstanding public servants who upheld our Constitutional rights and the rule of law with conviction during their time on the Court, and I am both humbled and honored to receive their endorsements today,” Judge Hagedorn said. “Like the justices who have lined up behind my campaign, I pledge to defend the rule of law, uphold the constitution, and protect the public on the Wisconsin Supreme Court.”

Justice Wilcox was appointed to the Wisconsin Supreme Court by Governor Tommy Thompson in 1992 and was elected to a 10-year term in 1997.

“I fully support Judge Brian Hagedorn’s candidacy for the Wisconsin Supreme Court,” former Justice Wilcox said. “His experience serving on the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, combined with his deep commitment to the Constitution and interpreting the law as written, make him exceptionally suited to serve on the Supreme Court.”

Appointed to the Wisconsin Supreme Court in 1998 by Governor Tommy Thompson, Justice Prosser was twice elected to 10-year terms in 2001 and 2011.

“Judge Brian Hagedorn is receiving my endorsement because he has the right judicial philosophy and exactly the kind of unique experience that will enable him to serve our state well,” former Justice Prosser said. “He is a person of integrity and principle who will be an outstanding addition to the Wisconsin Supreme Court.”

Judge Hagedorn was appointed to the bench in 2015 and won election to a new six-year term in April 2017. Before joining the bench, Judge Hagedorn’s legal practice included serving in some of the most consequential legal positions in the State of Wisconsin. Along with a background in private practice, Judge Hagedorn served as a law clerk at the Wisconsin Supreme Court where he assisted Justice Michael Gableman in deciding cases and writing opinions. He also worked as an Assistant Attorney General at the Wisconsin Department of Justice, and most recently, as Chief Legal Counsel to Governor Scott Walker. In these roles, Judge Hagedorn has participated in some of the most significant and high profile cases in Wisconsin history. Judge Hagedorn and his wife, Christina, live in Oconomowoc with their five children.
