JFC sets aside money for homeless initiatives

The Joint Finance Committee voted along party lines to set aside funding for an initiative to address homelessness, but Republicans decided to hold back the money while the policy aspects of the effort is decided in separate bills.
The guv included eight different housing assistance provisions in his budget that largely grew out of the Wisconsin Interagency Council on Homelessness, which was created in the last legislative session.
Separately, there are 13 bills that have been introduced in that were spurred by the council’s work.
