Milwaukee Building & Construction Trades Council: On Milwaukee being selected to host 2020 DNC

MILWAUKEE — Dan Bukiewicz, President of Milwaukee Building & Construction Trades Council, AFL-CIO, issued the following statement following Milwaukee being selected to host the 2020 Democratic National Convention:

“We are deeply appreciative to Chairman Tom Perez for selecting Milwaukee as the host for the 2020 Democratic National Convention. We have an unmatched opportunity to show the world what a beautiful, energetic, innovative and diverse city that labor is building in Milwaukee. Milwaukee’s selection clearly elevates our city to a new level in national and world stature.

“Under the leadership of Governor Tony Evers, and with local and federal partners like Sen. Tammy Baldwin, Congresswoman Gwen Moore and Congressman Mark Pocan, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and County Executive Chris Abele, Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes, we have truly turned the page in Wisconsin and we are headed in the right direction.
