Eau Claire, WI – On June 9th, NextGen Wisconsin will launch its Summer Pledge to Vote Campaign at Chippewa Valley Pride. NextGen Wisconsin will support the LGBTQIA+ community, recruit volunteers, and pledge Pride attendees to vote for progressive leaders that support LGBTQIA+ rights in every upcoming election.
In 2018, NextGen Wisconsin ran the largest youth vote program in the state. NextGen collected 50,869 pledges to vote, sent 528,781 text messages, and knocked on 178,477 doors to mobilize young people to vote in the midterm elections. Young Wisconsinites voted overwhelmingly to remove Scott Walker from the Governor’s office and elect progressive champion Tony Evers. This year, NextGen Wisconsin remains committed to organizing young people on college campuses and in communities to vote, fighting to expand access to the ballot box, and advocating for progressive change.
