Madison – Rep. Mark Born (R-Beaver Dam) issued the following statement after the passage of Assembly Bill 1 (AB 1) that protects those with pre-existing conditions from losing healthcare coverage:
“I am proud that the first act of the Wisconsin State Assembly was voting to protect residents of the 39th Assembly District with pre-existing conditions from losing access to their health insurance. Everyone knows someone who is affected by a pre-existing condition. With the uncertainty at the federal level of government, it is important for Wisconsin to lead on this issue and make sure these protections are in place.
“Whether it was on the campaign trail or at events in our community, the issue of pre-existing conditions is one of the most important issues for my constituents. By acting swiftly at the start of this legislative session, Assembly Republicans are continuing to show the people of Wisconsin that we are listening to their concerns and fighting for them in Madison.”
