MADISON –Governor Evers delivered his 2019-2021 Biennial Budget Address this evening in the Assembly Chambers at the State Capitol. Representative Emerson (D-Eau Claire) released the following statement in response:
“This is truly the people’s budget and it was created with the input of residents across the state, including the 91st District in Eau Claire. I am proud to support it.
“As we saw tonight in Evers’ address, education is the backbone of this budget, because we know what’s best for our kids is what’s best for our state.
“It’s time to set politics aside and get to work on the pressing issues facing our state such as Medicaid expansion, Middle Class Tax Cuts, Redistricting and Transportation Infrastructure, all of which were addressed tonight.
“Governor Evers budget is about putting people first and creating a Wisconsin that works for everyone, not just a few”
