MADISON – Representative Staush Gruszynski (D-Green Bay) joined Governor Tony Evers, Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes, Attorney General Josh Kaul, and Democratic legislators at the State Capitol for the introduction of universal criminal background check legislation authored by Senator LaTonya Johnson (D-Milwaukee) and Representative Melissa Sargent (D-Madison).

“I strongly support universal criminal background checks because they will make our communities safer by keeping guns out of the hands of criminals and others who are already prohibited from possessing guns under current law,” Gruszynski said. “As a sportsman and gun owner, I recognize that our 2nd Amendment rights come with responsibilities. By adopting this policy, we can save lives by preventing dangerous individuals from illegally purchasing guns. I am proud to cosponsor LRB-3949.”
