MADISON – Today, Governor Tony Evers appointed Missy Hughes as the next Secretary of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC). Hughes was the Chief Mission Officer and General Counsel for Organic Valley, the nation’s largest and oldest organic dairy cooperative. She currently serves on USDA’s Advisory Committee on Biotechnology & 21st Century Agriculture and sits on the board of the Organic Trade Association. Assembly Democratic Leader and WEDC Board Member Gordon Hintz (D-Oshkosh) released the following statement on Hughes’ appointment:

I am confident that under her leadership, the WEDC will find innovative ways to create economic development opportunities in all 72 counties.
