MADISON – Today Assembly Democratic Leader Gordon Hintz (D-Oshkosh) welcomed Representative-elect Thaddeus “Tip” McGuire (D-Somers) to the Wisconsin State Assembly and the Assembly Democratic Caucus. Hintz released the following statement after McGuire earned 62% of the vote in defeating Republican Mark Stalker in a Special Election for the 64th Assembly District:
“Congratulations to Representative-elect McGuire on his big win in the 64th Assembly District last night. His deep roots in the Kenosha community will serve his constituents well as he works to build a brighter future for Wisconsin families. Tip has big shoes to fill in replacing Secretary-designee Peter Barca, but I am confident his knowledge, passion, and experience will be a great asset to the legislature. We look forward to welcoming Tip to our caucus.”
