Rep. Loudenbeck: Names First Responder of the Year

Madison – Wisconsin State Representative Amy Loudenbeck (R-Clinton) has chosen Walworth County Sheriff’s Deputy Daniel Nelson to receive the First Responder of the Year Award for the 31st Assembly District.

Deputy Nelson has been serving Walworth County since 2001. In addition to his patrol duties, Deputy Nelson takes on extra responsibility by assisting with outreach programs and training. He serves as Community Resources Officer for the Walworth County Sheriff’s Department and is involved in the “Operation Click” and National Night Out programs.  Deputy Nelson has also been an integral part of security and active shooter response training for local school and county personnel.

“Deputy Nelson has proudly served the Walworth County Sheriff’s Department for 18 years. His actions show he truly cares for those who live, work and visit our local communities. I’m thankful for his service and am pleased to recognize his unwavering dedication to Walworth County,” said Loudenbeck.

October is First Responder Appreciation Month, and the State Assembly will be honoring a First Responder from each of the 99 Assembly Districts during their session day on Thursday October 10th. Deputy Dan Nelson and Sheriff Kurt Picknell will be joining Rep. Loudenbeck at the State Capitol next week for this well-earned recognition.
