CONTACT STATE REPRESENTATIVE JOHN MACCO (608) 266-0485

Green Bay…Representative John Macco (R-Ledgeview) released the following statement following the announcement that Chancellor Miller will be leaving UW Green Bay.

“As the 6th chancellor at the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay, Gary Miller will be known as the chancellor responsible for propelling UWGB in the 21st century,” said Rep. Macco. “His vision and accomplishments cannot be overstated. He developed historic partnerships with Microsoft, the Green Bay Packers, Richard Resch and Titletown Tech. Gary not only reversed the decline in enrollment but this UW campus is now one of only two in the state to see enrollment grow! He did this all while managing a restructuring and incorporation of campuses in Sheboygan, Manitowoc and Marinette.”

Chancellor Miller will be leaving to take the helm at University of Akron in Ohio as the university’s president.

“It has been a pleasure to work alongside Chancellor Miller as he oversaw the development of the UW-Green Bay STEM Center and created an Engineering College at the university. University Wisconsin-Green Bay is growing into the 21st century and providing not only for the needs of the Bay Area but the state of Wisconsin. I look forward to working with the next chancellor as they will have big shoes to fill as UW-Green Bay continues to be a powerhouse in the state. Gary has been one of the most defining chancellors the university has seen to date and I wish him the best of luck,” concluded Rep. Macco.
