Returns Powers to Gov. Evers

MADISON, WI – Today, Dane County Judge Frank Remington issued an injunction blocking portions of the Republican Lame Duck power grab laws passed in the December 2018 Extraordinary Session. This was the second judge to block the Lame Duck laws in less than one week, as the first injunction is under appeal.

Representative Greta Neubauer (D-Racine) released the following statement in response:

“Today’s ruling is yet another court victory for the people of Wisconsin, for the separation of powers, and for our democracy. Within one week, we have seen two separate Wisconsin judges grant injunctions against last December’s lame duck laws. This is a clear signal that the Republicans’ eleventh-hour power grab is antithetical to our laws and our values in Wisconsin.

“Two separate judges in two separate cases have put this desperate power grab on hold. It’s time for the legislative Republicans to respect the voters’ voices and stop spending taxpayers money defending these broken laws.”
