Madison…  Today, the Joint Committee on Finance approved $3.25 million to combat homelessness in the 2019-2021 biennial budget. Rep. Jon Plumer (R-Lodi) released the following statement:

“Sadly, homelessness is an issue in every corner of this state. Thankfully, the Interagency Council on Homelessness along with Republican legislators have crafted legislation to begin to combat this issue. I am thrilled that the Joint Committee on Finance is committed to ending homelessness and is willing to set aside $3.25 million to aid in those efforts. The plan that the Interagency Council on Homelessness put together was a great start and now is the time to see it through. This includes a bill that I authored, Assembly Bill (AB) 124. AB 124 establishes grants to defray housing costs and for diversion programming.

“I look forward to passing these great bills in the coming months and presenting them to Governor Evers for his approval.”
