MADISON- State Representative Timothy Ramthun (R-Campbellsport) issued the following statement in response to being selected as a member of the Speaker’s Task Force on Adoption:
“I couldn’t be more honored to be selected by Speaker Vos to be a member of his Task Force on Adoption. I want to extend my personal thanks to him for his selection of me, allowing me to again have a seat at the table and help get things done for the good of our state,” Rep. Ramthun stated. “When I was elected, one of my many priorities was helping children and families across Wisconsin. This task force will be an incredible opportunity to do just that, as a servant of the people.”
“I look forward to working with my good friend Chairwoman Dittrich and my highly-respected colleagues on addressing issues regarding adoption in Wisconsin. I am confident that we will meet and exceed the expectations placed upon us,” he added. “This is my second task force I’ve been selected to this session, the Lord has truly blessed me with both of these statewide initiatives. The people of the 59th district elected me to be active and engaged in every matter, and I will ask questions and help the committee get to the heart of the issue.”
According to Speaker Vos, the task force “will examine the termination of parental rights, identify ways to shorten the timeline for adoptions, evaluate the costs of adoption and ways to reduce the amount, and increase awareness and resources pertaining to adoption.”
