(Nashville, TN) Today, State Rep. Lisa Subeck (D-Madison) joined fellow state lawmakers from across the U.S. to call for passage of commonsense state laws to stop gun violence.
Subeck, a member of the American State Legislators for Gun Violence Prevention (ASLGVP), stood with legislative colleagues Ohio, Texas and other states in front of the Tennessee State Capitol today, to urge lawmakers in state legislatures across the U.S. to pass strong gun violence prevention laws. The press conference was held in response to the recent mass shootings in Dayton, Ohio and El Paso, Texas
“Families should not have to fear sending their children to school, going to work, shop, or attend community events,” the Madison lawmaker said. ”We as legislators have the power to curb gun violence now with common sense laws such as Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPO) and requiring background checks for all gun sales. We must take action now.”
