Madison…Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester) released the following statement following the passing of Dr. Robert Spitzer.

“I’m saddened to hear the news of the passing of Bob Spitzer. My condolences and prayers go out to his family and friends. His long and impressive list of accomplishments are only outnumbered by his many acts of kindness toward others. He went out of his way to share his gifts and expertise by mentoring others, which included me. Bob was an author, researcher, educator, businessman and many of us were honored to call him a friend.

“His involvement in conservative advocacy is an inspiration. He was the true definition of a compassionate conservative. He was the head of U.S. State Department’s Food for Peace program and a founding chairman of the Norman Vincent Peale Guideposts Advisory Cabinet.

“Bob leaves a legacy of leadership and generosity that will have a lasting and significant impact on the Burlington area, Wisconsin and our nation.”
