State representative will serve on total of six committees
State Rep. Don Vruwink (D-Milton) announced today that he will serve as the ranking member on two Assembly committees and on a total of six committees during the 2019-2020 legislative session.
A ranking member takes the lead on informing fellow Democratic members of legislation that comes to the committee and leads discussions of policy decisions.
“As I begin my second term in the Legislature, I look forward to these new leadership roles,” Vruwink said. “I am pleased to bring to these committees my experience as an educator; my knowledge of rural and agricultural issues; and my ideas for improving commerce. As a member of the Tourism Committee, I will continue to promote all that the 43rd Assembly District has to offer. Finally, as a former city council member, an out-going school board member, and current state legislator, I am pleased to be able to lend my insight to the Government Accountability Committee.”
“I look forward to a new session with a new governor and new ideas. I always welcome hearing from my constituents for ways to improve the quality of life in our great state.”
The committees are:
§ Education
§ Agriculture
§ Tourism
§ Government Accountability
§ Rural Development (ranking member)
§ International Affairs & Commerce (ranking member)
