Madison, WI – State Representative Chuck Wichgers (R-Muskego) released the following statement regarding Governor Evers’ budget address:
“Governor Evers is making promises to the special interest groups and the lobbyists that he cannot keep.
“I will stand with my Republican colleagues in crafting a responsible budget that maintains vital services and continues to grow Wisconsin’s economy for the betterment of all of its citizens.”
The governor’s proposal tonight increases spending by more than $6 billion, an 8 percent increase from the current budget. In addition, he would like to grow state government by 701 positions.
