MADISON- Today elected officials and community leaders celebrate Highway WIS 23’s expansion with a groundbreaking ceremony at Wade House Historic Site. Starting this month construction will begin on the 19-mile stretch of WIS 23 – US 151 in Fond du Lac and Sheboygan counties. Senator Dan Feyen (R-Fond du Lac) released the following statement:
“It is so rewarding to see the construction plans for expanding WIS 23 finally take off after years of effort. I applaud all the lawmakers who have tirelessly advocated for WIS 23’s expansion over the past 20 years. When Governor Tommy Thompson and Assembly Republicans originally introduced this proposal in 1999 no one expected it would take so long to finally see progress. This expansion will improve travel safety and promote economic development in Fond du Lac and surrounding communities. I greatly look forward to seeing how this will positively impact our state and the people of the 18th Senate District. ”
