Abortion Special Interests highly placed at the Department of Health Services
Madison, WI – Senator Duey Stroebel (R-Cedarburg) released this statement regarding the public hearing on Governor Evers’ Secretary-designee Andrea Palm:
Wisconsin residents deserve a Department of Health Services focused on delivery quality services to our residents, not one waging an ideological battle on behalf of left-wing special interest groups like Planned Parenthood.
I am deeply concerned by Governor Evers’ budget proposal to fund Planned Parenthood with federal and state taxpayer dollars. I also fear this change will be the first of many pro-abortion and anti-taxpayer policies from DHS. The Assistant Deputy Secretary of DHS is Nicole Safar, who spent the last decade as a registered lobbyist for Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin. I’m concerned Secretary-designee Palm and Assistant Deputy Secretary Safar will attempt to override the legislature by skirting the law about Title X Funding, and seek other means to direct taxpayer dollars to groups like Planned Parenthood.
