MADISON- Today, State Representative Mark Spreitzer (D-Beloit) was appointed to serve on the following 8 committees:

  • Agriculture
  • Assembly Organization
  • Campaigns and Elections
  • Criminal Justice and Public Safety
  • Forestry, Parks and Outdoor Recreation
  • Local Government
  • Rules
  • Sporting Heritage

Rep. Spreitzer will be the ranking Democratic member on the Committee on Local Government. Rep. Spreitzer served as Beloit City Council President prior to his election to the Assembly, and served on the Local Government committee in the 2017-18 session.

“I am looking forward to serving on these committees in the 2019-20 session and to get to work on the issues that matter to my district.” Rep. Spreitzer said. “My background as a former Beloit City Councilor will inform my service as the ranking member on the Local Government Committee. I will stand up for local control and fight to ensure the State Legislature is enacting laws that will help local governments across the state.”

“From supporting beginning farmers and improving opportunities for hunting, fishing, and other outdoor recreation to reforming our criminal justice system and increasing the fairness of our election systems, I am excited to put forward ideas to move Wisconsin forward in each of these committees,” Rep. Spreitzer added.
