WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today in the House Financial Services Committee, Democrats voted down Wisconsin Congressman Sean Duffy’s amendment to prevent financial institutions for providing financial assistance to cannabis-related businesses that are near schools.

“A depository institution may not provide financial services to a cannabis-related legitimate business that is located within 1000 feet of a school, youth center, public park, child care facility, housing facility owned by a public housing authority, civic center, or designated ‘‘drug-free’’ zone.”
