WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Mike Gallagher (R-WI) today testified before the House Judiciary Committee on his bill H.R.1522, the Congressional and Executive Foreign Lobbying Ban Act. This legislation, which Gallagher introduced earlier this year, would ban Members of Congress, senior executive branch officials, and general and flag officers of the Armed Forces from lobbying on behalf of foreign interests.

In light of recent reports indicating numerous former high ranking government officials have signed up to lobby on behalf of foreign adversaries such as China, Gallagher urged his colleagues to pass H.R. 1522 to ensure people in positions of power serve the American people, not foreign interests or the swamp. This legislation is a part of Gallagher’s broader “Drain the Swamp” initiative to bring structural change to Washington and restore trust in government. Click HERE to watch a video of his testimony.
