(Washington, D.C.) – Congressman Glenn Grothman (R-Glenbeulah) today released the following statement upon hearing news that President Trump will be screening the movie Gosnell at the White House on Friday, April 12, 2019. Gosnell is the story of Kermit Gosnell, who provided illegal abortions in Philadelphia for over 30 years. Gosnell was convicted of murder after killing two women during botched abortion procedures and finding out he would often deliver babies alive, then end their lives.
“Kermit Gosnell is one of the most vile men in American history.” Said Grothman. “For decades, he was allowed to operate an illegal abortion clinic in Philadelphia that resulted in the deaths of countless children. In addition to all of the babies he killed before they were born, Gosnell would routinely deliver babies alive before he brutally murdered them.
I have seen the movie and read the even better book, and for this reason I applaud President Trump on his leadership of choosing to show ‘Gosnell’ at the White House. This decision shows just how invested, focused and knowledgeable President Trump is on pro-life issues. I believe that everyone should watch ‘Gosnell’, or read the book, in order to see just how repulsive abortion is and the dark road the pro-abortion movement is on, as evidenced by the recent legislation in New York and Virginia.”
