Today, Rep. Ron Kind released the following statement congratulating Victoria Brahm, director of the Tomah VA Medical Center, on being awarded 2019 Federal Employee of the Year as a Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medals Honoree.

“I offer my sincerest congratulations to Victoria Brahm on winning 2019 Federal Employee of the Year. Guided by her vision as director, the Tomah VA Medical Center is transitioning into a national example of excellence. Although there remains more work to be done to fulfill our nation’s promises to our veterans in recognition of their great sacrifices, the contributions of federal employees like Victoria are a great step forward,” said Rep. Ron Kind. “I join today in congratulating and thanking Victoria for her leadership and commitment to ensuring that all veterans receive the quality care they deserve after serving our nation so courageously.”

The Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medal highlights excellence in the federal workforce and are a prestigious honor with a rigorous selection process. Named for the Partnership for Public Service’s late founder, the awards are intended to recognize outstanding federal employees for accomplishments that seldom receive the attention they deserve.
