WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Ron Kind voted for H.R. 1, the For the People Act. This historic reform package will reduce the role of money in politics, end the culture of corruption in Washington, and make it easier for American citizens to vote. The legislation also has provisions to bolster voting system security, and requires states to adopt independent redistricting commissions to end partisan gerrymandering.
A statement from Rep. Ron Kind on the For the People Act is below:
“The For the People Act puts the power back where it belongs – in the hands of Wisconsinites. I am proud to support this bill, which will raise ethical standards for Members of Congress, take big money out of Washington, and make it easier for all our citizens to vote and participate in our democracy.”
